Dr. John Sorkin currently serves as the Chief of Biostatistics and Informatics at the Division of Gerontology, Department of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine were he is an Associate Professor. John also has a joint appointment with the Baltimore VA Medical Center. In his current role, John is responsible for the development, delivery and management of patient record and support systems. He additionally focuses on the use of technology in research on aging and cardiovascular risk assessments in the elderly. John also provides support for all training efforts for fellows, faculty and staff in statistics, informatics, epidemiology and clinical investigation. John holds membership in multiple Safety Monitoring Boards and Biostatistical and Bioinformatic working groups. He has written several book chapters and is the author of over 100 articles and abstracts in refereed journals and proceedings.
John received his Ph.D. in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins in 1999. He completed his MD in Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and his internship and residencies at University of Pittsburgh, PA. . He is licensed to practice medicine in NY, PA and MD. |
